When we first moved here to Texas, I painted Hunter's bedroom lavendar with a white picket fence and butterflies and flowers. She was 8 at the time. Well Hunter is now 14 and was tired of the lavendar room about 2 years ago. So about 3 weeks ago I started painting. Lots of primer and 3 coats of bright green paint later she has a young adult bedroom. While I was painting the picket fence I decided I would never do that again, now after covering it up I really would never do that again.
Larry helped Kelly install a laminate floor in part of her house. What an education for both of them. But we're buying some of her left overs and will lay the flooring in our front 2 bedrooms. We plan laying tile in the great room and we're looking at bamboo for our bedroom, but that can change. Other than the 2 bedrooms, the work is planned for after Christmas. Larry has plently of projects to keep him busy in the meantime.
While we were on our mission there were some pretty strong thunderstorms with big hail that came through. Almost everyone around us was having their roofs replaced. No, our house was not missed. The insurance adjustor was out last week and agreed that our roof needs replaced. Larry is not doing that job, but it was determined that we also had damage to the fence. And Larry has been working on replacing it.

Just Another Week
Last thursday was Larry's 62nd birthday. We invited all the kids over for his birthday dinner. The only catch was he chose liver and onions for the entre. Kelly & Sally gladly accepted the invite, the others chose to have only the baked potato offering. Diego & Damon decided they liked it too. The chocolate cake, baked from scratch by Stephanie was the biggest hit with the group...everyone liked it.
Friday Hunter had her first Volleyball game of the season. She made the freshman "A" team. You can tell it's a brand new team (2 weeks as a team) and a new high school. There are only freshmen & sophmores currently at Timber Creek High School. We all thought Hunter was great.
Saturday Larry went to Witchata Falls to ride in the infamous Hotter n Hell Hundred. He finished in 6 hrs. Not a bad way to start his 62nd year in life. We are all proud of him.
I had decided to paint the bathroom while he was gone. I did start on the bathroom, but first I put about a 1/2 gallon on the driveway. the can fell out when I opened the door and exploded. I greatful that Larry keeps the driveway clean and hosed, I managed to save most of the paint before I hosed it off. There are aqua blue spots still on the driveway though.
We have been watching Axel most of this week while Brody is in Las Vegas working. Can't say much has gotten done since Saturday, although we did get the shelf painted.
Ranger game tonight, hope they win this time.
