We left on Jan 20 for a 2 week vacation. We went to California first, then to Arizona. In CA we visited with lots of friends & family. We had rain, snow & sunshine during our travels. We started in Cherry Valley at my Dad's & Frans. We went to the movies, and Oak Glen, and worked several hours putting jig saw puzzles together.
We were able to go to Laguna Niguel and visit Terry & Kandy and see their new home. They have done a ton of work on it and it's beautiful. Kandy took me on a walk around the lake, I'm such a wimp, the little hills winded me, (remember TX is flat).

They took us by Becky & Brads home and we had a short visit.
We had a good breakfast with my old boss & friend Laura O'Rourke in Riverside.
I got to see my friend June, she hasn't changed in the last 5 years.
Sorry, I don't know how to flip the picture, but we had a good visit with Jim & Linda Daniels in Rancho Cucamonga.
A trip to California means a trip to Tommy's for us. We also bought enough chili to bring home and make burgers for the kids in TX.
Summer & Sydney gave up their room for us. Larry looks good in pink, huh.
We loved the time we spent with our niece Jenny Stewart & her family. Sedona is beautiful. We hope to return again later this year. They drove us around town and the scenery is unbelievable. the shopping was pretty good too.

But the biggest part of our trip was the mule trip to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. This has been something we have wanted to do for a long time. We had done the 1/2 day & all day rides in the past, but this is the big one. Now I want to do it again. It is not for those who are weak mentally or physically. My knees still hurt, & if you have a fear of heights it may not be for you. Those mules do their best to scare you walking as close to the edge as possible, my mule Marcie wanted to eat and would lean over the edge for a bite, just to keep me on my toes. Larry's mule Little Jeb tried to run up the last half mile when a small avalance fell behind him....only there were 5 mules ahead of him blocking the trail...not that he didn't try anyway. We have more snow today so far 7 inches, the most in over 30 years.
Today has been a lazy day, no work that has to be done. Larry's been watching home improvement shows...Maybe we will see how we want to remodel our shower. They were on the DVR. Larry had to brush the snow off the satellite dish to get reception for live TV. The way it's snowing he may have to go out again before Survivor starts.
