Our home in California had a large shower, so from day 1 in our Texas home we wanted more than the small cubby hole we have for one. Last month we started the bathroom remodel. We tore out the small fiberglass stall.
We hire someone to put in a new pan and help layout the larger shower.
Larry started tiling. You can see our extension of the actual shower.
Larry worked day after day working on it. I was only able to give occasional advice when requested. I'm still on a lifting restriction.
It was a work in progress. We had ideas of what we wanted and made some changes along the way. A new toilet for one...the old one was good until the shelf above it was being replaced and hit the top breaking it. So the only remaining old thing in the room was the jacuzzi tub.
We enlisted the family's help, Axel helped pull out tile spacers.
Hunter needed the work off a loan, so she helped remove excess grout. She said she actually enjoyed helping Papa. But also said it was hard and tiring.
We were going to put a 12"x 6' glass wall on the extension, but changed our minds when there was little overspray. The effect without the wall and no door is amazing. The bathroom looks larger even though no footage was added. The first time I showered in it, I felt like I was showering outside.
New vanities and mirrors. When we were picking out the sink tops, we originally planned on stone. I saw these and Larry said "who would want those!" I said I did. I won him over and really, really likes them. I'm glad the bathroom journey is over now. We will be mopping up cement, thin-set & grout dust for weeks. Larry did a great job!
