A Trip to Grandmama's & Aunt Chris'

Monday we made the long trip to Georgia.  Almost 900 miles.
For the last couple of years, we have been trying to get the boys to my sister's for a summer time visit.
 We finally did it.

We stopped every couple of hours for a stretch.
A quick lunch fix in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

14 hours later, we were there.
Damon was watching the boys swim, Chris thought he should join them.
My sister lives on about 5 acres in northern Georgia, they have a nice home, a pool,  pond and a bit of woods.
The boys dug up worms for fishing and Uncle Rick ran out and bought more poles.  I have received texts from Oscar saying they have hooked the big bass and it broke one of those poles.  He also sent pics of fish he has caught.  They are having and adventure...so is my sister.

My brother's step-son Jackson is also visiting and enjoying cousin time.

All the boys cleaning up after a big spagetti dinner.  M nephews Matt, JD and Cody were there too.

A picture of the girls, it was nice to spend a day with my Mom and sister.  Wish it could have been longer.
My nephew Matt, brother-in-law Rick and Larry.  Rick is flying back with the boys in 2 weeks, he's combining a business trip with escorting them.  No one else wanted to do the crazy drive.
Larry and I returned home Wednesday, 14 hours again.  Three days of work, and then we hit the road for vacation.

Stephanie's Birthday Present

Stephanie has been a Daughtry fan as long as I have, but has never been able to attend a concert for numerous reasons.  I saw he was touring and coming to Dallas.  Happy Birthday!
We had several thunder storms the days proceeding the big day, including that afternoon.
But as you can see, it was a beautiful evening.
Kelly and her friend Katlin also came, more to see The Goo Goo Dolls.  Both decided Daughtry was a good show too.

The Last Days of June

Axel spent Monday-Wednesday with us after school got out.  I tried to have little crafts to do daily, trying to avoid TV and video games.
One he liked was the melty beads.  He made several projects, it took him a lot of patience, but had fun playing with the bugs, lizards
 and scorpion
Larry had one of his wienie roasts with his boys.  We are grateful for a shady backyard on hot days.

I got to have a couple of hotdogs and marshmallows before work.
At the end of the day, we had an official flag burning.  Our boy scouts demonstrated the correct procedure,  then they burned stuff.
